Global Excel Management Inc. (Global Excel) is an independent cost containment, claims management and medical assistance company specializing in the U.S. market. Until 2011 it operated as a fully owned subsidiary of etfs (Expert Travel Financial Security Inc.). Founded in Sherbrooke, Quebec in 1984 etfs was one of Canada’s leading providers of specialized health and travel insurance products and services. In 2011 etfs was sold to Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA) Canada and Global Excel continues to provide complete back-office support to RSA for these products.

 

We offer a full range of services to international, Canadian and U.S. domestic clients, including: insurers, reinsurers, assistance providers, and TPAs.  We provide services to travellers, expatriates, students, major medical patients and U.S. domestic clients. With over 320 clients located in more than 40 countries, Global Excel manages approximately 95,000 inpatient, outpatient and non-med cases per year.

 

The company’s independence extends beyond ownership to provider/supplier relations. We’ve never signed ‘exclusive’ arrangements – we work with who we feel will do the best job from a cost/quality perspective. This independent stance allows us to make decisions in the best interest of our clients and to respect their wishes when it comes to preferred providers.
In 2014 Global Excel acquired the international business of Medsave USA, Inc.; a diversified healthcare management company headquartered in Hauppauge, New York. The company offered a broad spectrum of medical cost containment and related services to international health insurers, brokers, TPAs, travel assistance companies, multinationals and government agencies from around the globe.

 

In 2015 Global Excel acquired Olympus Managed Health Care Inc. (Olympus), and its associated companies, Olympus Healthcare Solutions México SA, ChoiceNet International México SA (CNI) and Healthcare Concierge Services Inc. (HCS). Olympus remains a leading independent provider of health care claims administration and cost containment services and is highly specialized in serving the expat and destination markets. Since its inception in 1994, Olympus has focused exclusively on facilitating access to health care on behalf of its clientele. Olympus' products and services focus on bringing value to the payer, medical provider, and health care consumer. Olympus has over 60 clients located in 90 countries, and will process approximately $415 million in healthcare claims annually. We have 90 employees located in Miami, Florida and another 25 employees located in Mexico City, Mexico.

 

Global Excel currently employs approximately 350 employees with an average tenure of over 8 years in our office located in Quebec, Canada.  We have a client retention rate over the past 10 years in excess of 99%. For our year ending 2015 Global Excel will have processed approximately $850M USD in billed charges made up of approximately 200K medical and non-medical bills. Over our 18 year existence we’ve processed well over $5B USD in billed charges. Olympus will process an additional $450M USD in billed charges in 2015. Combined our two entities will process in excess of $1.3B USD in claims in 2015. This makes Global Excel the largest independent provider of cost containment services in the US market.
