About ÖAMTC
The Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club was founded in 1896 and is, with 1,8 million members, the biggest assistance company in Austria and one of ARC Europe’s shareholders.
ÖAMTC is a federal, politically neutral and economically independent membership organisation. It’s main goal is to provide and secure individual mobility, for their members and B2B clients.
In 1965 ÖAMTC pioneered by offering medical assistance in Austria. Now the Ambulance Team is handling about 3000 medical assistance cases per year and thanks to it’s helicopter rescue service the prime medical service provider in Austria.
In 1983 the ÖAMTC started its helicopter rescue services, the ÖAMTC-Flugrettung. It operates 22 emergency helicopters at 14 heliports and has flew more than 200.000 rescue operations in its existence. Partners of the ‘Flugrettung’ are the ambulance service company Wiener Rettung, the Austrian Mountain Rescue and the Red Cross in Austria.
ÖAMTC is the market leader in its field and has the largest expertise and knowledge of medical assistance in Austria.
